Founded in 1797 by Dutch settlers, West Windsor Township is a full service, diverse community. Blue Ribbon schools, residential offerings for all ages, and preserved open space are balanced with commercial and retail development. Situated along the Route 1 corridor, West Windsor boasts the third busiest railroad station in New Jersey servicing New York City and Philadelphia. Major companies are headquartered in West Windsor utilizing modern office complexes such as the award winning Carnegie Center. A variety of hotels and restaurants serve both businesses and residents. The Township offers countless recreational activities including four public golf courses, a swimming complex, indoor and outdoor tennis, boating, a senior center with recreational and educational programs, and organized sports for children. The West Windsor History Museum showcases the Schenck farmhouse as well as a Dutch/English barn that dates back to the eighteenth century. West Windsor also has many golf courses open to the public for those looking for some tee time. In addition, there are events going on throughout the year including a Food Truck Fiesta and various cultural festivals held in Mercer County Park.This park has numerous walking trails and a Marina for paddle boating, the ideal day activity for families.
