Borough Hall One Monument Dr. PO Box 390, Princeton, NJ 08542 609-924-3118 fax 609-924-9714http://www.princetonboro.org/
Settled in 1696 and incorporated in 1813, the Borough of Princeton's historic points of interest are numerous. The most famous is Princeton University, founded in 1746 as The College of New Jersey. For a few months in 1783, Princeton served as the nation's capital, with Congress convening in Nassau Hall on the college campus. More than history draws visitors and new residents to Princeton. Located midway between New York City and Philadelphia, with convenient bus and train transportation, the Borough is lively and stylish, but casual. Charming boutiques, interspersed with popular national stores, draw shoppers from far and wide. Housing in the Borough is always in demand, whether single-family homes, apartments, condominiums, townhouses or senior residences. The Borough, jointly with the Township of Princeton, maintains a public swimming pool for residents and runs an active tennis program. The Princeton Arts Council, YWCA and YMCA offer recreational, educational and cultural opportunities.
