The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Robbinsville, NJ, is a traditionally stone-carved Hindu temple in the heart of New Jersey. A ‘mandir’ is a Hindu house of worship; however, this mandir complex is open to any family or tourists interested in enjoying the intricate architecture, gardens, inspirational messages, and facilities that compliment the mandir like the Indian food café, and more. The new Welcome Center and Shayona Café opened in the summer of 2022. Nilkanth Plaza: At Nilkanth Plaza stands a 49-foot tall bronze image of Shri Nilkanth Varni, the teenage form of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, in a yogic tree pose to commemorate the 49 years he lived on earth. Nilkanth Plaza is also home to a traditional Indian stepwell. Welcome Center: The Welcome Center is a majestic foyer with intricately carved wood pillars, arches, and panels that welcome all to experience the mandir. The atmosphere is illuminated with traditional lamps and sky-wells. It is designed in 17th century Indian Haveli architecture. Traditionally Stone-Carved Mandir (Hindu house of worship): The mandir is 133 feet long, 87 feet wide, and 42 feet tall at its highest point. Shayona Café and Snacks & Sweets Shop: Authentic Indian dine-in delicacies are offered as well as snacks ready to take home. Indians and non-Indians alike bring family and friends to explore the welcoming haveli and experience the tranquility of the breathtaking mandir. Most visitors who come through our doors are genuinely awestruck and feel they have been transported to India. The mandir is a short 18-minute drive or ride from the NJ Transit Princeton Junction train station. It is also easily accessible off the NJ Turnpike, I-295, and Route US-130.
