  • Metropolitan Opera Assistant Conductor Joan Dornemann conducts a master class with participants of Westminster's CoOPERAtive program. Ms. Dornemann is one of the most highly respected opera coaches in the world today. She has worked with such singers as Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, Sherrill Milnes, Kiri Te Kanawa, Montserrat Caballe, Deborah Voigt, Renée Fleming, Leo Nucci and others. She has been associated with the Gran Liceo in Barcelona, the Spoleto Festival, the New York City Opera, Opera National de Paris and the Kirov Opera. Ms. Dornemann has received an Emmy Award for her contribution to the highly acclaimed first Live From the Met first telecast of La bohème. She is the author of Complete Preparation: A Guide to Auditioning for the Opera. The CoOPERAtive Program is a three week intensive program with private coaching, focusing on operatic style, performance techniques, dramatic presentation, language and diction, body awareness, resumé and application advice.
