  • Bach and Handel, the two towering geniuses of the Baroque era, were born in Germany in the same year. They never met, and their lives were as different as their musical styles. The Princeton Festival Baroque Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Gregory Geehern, will perform Bach's joyful cantata BWV 196, "Der Herr denket an uns", and Handel's brilliant "Dixit Dominus", both composed in the first flush of genius around 1707, when the two men were 22 years old. Tickets can be purchased online (mccarter.org/princetonfestival), by phone at 609.258.2787, or in person at the McCarter Theatre Ticket Office at 91 University Place in Princeton. Specially priced student tickets are also available for this concert. Visit princetonfestival.org for complete information about all 2018 Princeton Festival performances and events.
