Rutgers University was chartered in 1766 and is the nation's eighth oldest institution for higher education. Rutgers offers campuses in New Brunswick, Newark and Camden, NJ. Rutgers is a major research university with approximately 100 undergraduate majors and 70 graduate programs including four liberal arts day colleges, a liberal arts college for adult and part-time students, a graduate school, and five professional schools.
